Swiss Paraplegics Association (SPV)

The SPV is Switzerland's national self-help organisation for people with spinal cord injuries. Their activities throughout Switzerland aim to:

  • establish and promote regionally-organised wheelchair clubs in order to give members the opportunity to engage in social, cultural and athletic activities
  • protect the interests of paraplegics with regard to the public and the authorities and promote equal opportunities within our society
  • expand and improve the range of services offered by Wheelchair Sport Switzerland, the Center for Obstacle Free Building, the department of Culture and Leisure, the Institute for Social and Legal Advice and the Institute for Vocational Guidance.

The SPV works within a modern organisational structure. As its Chairman of the Board, the Di-rector is responsible for the association's operational management. He is supported by five de-partment managers and a team of around 60 staff members. This highly-motivated team guarantees top-notch services for our members.
Located in close proximity to the Swiss Paraplegic Centre Nottwil, it is also ideally situated for establishing early personal contact to paraplegics. All members benefit clearly from the ex-change of information this permits and the joint use of various logistics facilities.
